The Table Tennis Group has been in action for over 20 years. It is a very friendly, informal group of players who meet on alternate Wednesdays from 10am to 12 noon.
We play in the Reading Room, a red brick Victorian building in Fetcham. It was built in 1885 to enable workers in the parish to meet and socialize. Educated ladies of the village it seems were in attendance to read newspapers and letters to workers who were unable to read for themselves. We are continuing the tradition of meeting and socializing. As there is only space for one table we play doubles. When not playing members enjoy spectating or just having a chat over a cup of coffee or tea.
We have been fortunate enough to recently purchase a new table tennis table with the help of a grant from Surrey County Council’s, “Your Councilor Community Fund”.
